Hello, Adstringendum! This is Rachel Berry and I'm unable to come to the phone right now due to some pressing matters that I must get resolved or else. If you would like to get a hold of me for any reason whatsoever -- business or otherwise --, please leave a message after the beep!

[Rachel is busy dusting off the unicorn's nose carefully to free it from the tiny bit of dirt that is on it when Castiel offers the baby animal to her. Which results in her staring at him and a complete lack of awareness that the unicorn is carefully pulling on the end of the dress she is wearing with his teeth.]

Me?

[She sounds breathlessly delighted.]

Really? I can keep it?

[Even Castiel can tell that she's happy, which causes him to feel a little bit so as a result.]

Of course.

[He'd been a little concerned she might not want it and he would have had no idea what to do with it then, so he's relieved.]

[She's stunned, for a second or two, before she immediately launches herself toward him for a tight hug. She even manages to stand on her toes to give him a kiss on the cheek, too, before there is a muffled:]

Best present ever, you have to help me name it!

[The hug Castiel is expecting, but the kiss on the cheek not so much; he does recognize it, though, as a sign of human affection. He lights up, just a little, to have made her so happy, and a faint smile crosses his face.]

I am not good at naming things, Rachel. But I am glad you are happy.

Of course I'm happy, you got me a unicorn!

[She lets him go, but soon hugs his arm so she can look back at the unicorn while still expressing her thanks. The unicorn that still has the edge of her dress in his teeth.]

And nonsense, you are wonderful at naming things, you named your cat something very pretty.

Something will jump at us.

[Castiel doesn't look so certain, but he nods slightly, and watches the little creature with Rachel.]

[Rachel doesn't seem to mind the tiny animal tugging on her skirts and she, too, is watching the unicorn intently.]

-- maybe Christian, like from Moulin Rouge.

I don't know who that is.

[But Castiel's tone is just faintly amused, like he recognizes the silliness of how often he has to say that.]

He is a character in a movie that is very good. I can show it to you someday if Jade will let me borrow her laptop.

[Rachel doesn't seem to mind how silly it is. He's not from around here, so it's perfectly understandable that he doesn't know certain things. Even if his complete lack of knowledge was initially insulting.]

But I don't think he looks like a Christian, do you?

I would be interested in seeing it.

[He's curious, as always, about human things, and seeing some movies if given the opportunity is a good way to learn more. Also he wants to see what Gabriel would do if he makes an appropriate movie reference.]

Names are usually chosen on meaning, correct?

Then I will show it to you.

[Brightly, as she watches the unicorn.]

And usually -- I mean, my dads named me after a television character, not for what Rachel actually means.

Rachel means 'ewe'.

[He points out, thinking the name fits; sheep are gentle creatures, and that's definitely Rachel's nature.]

Then you were named after what the name represents through the character, correct? It is still a meaning.

[Rachel wrinkles her nose at that.]

I suppose so -- what does Castiel mean? Why is that your name?

It means 'My cover is God.'

[His voice is oddly neutral. He doesn't know how he feels about his own name's meaning after all that's happened.]

I don't know. I'm not certain who named me, even, though I presume it was my Father.

That's a beautiful meaning.

[It's said quietly -- Rachel knows, better than the angels probably think she does, about how painful talking about their Father is. And she hugs his arm loosely before continuing to speak.]

Somewhat ironic, but I think that makes it even more special.

I'm not certain I like irony in this regard.

[A faint attempt at a joke, no matter how seriously the underlying subject is.]

[Her lips quirk upward slightly before -- ]

If your Father ever shows up here, I will slap him for you.

[He just stares at her, for that; not because of the idea of slapping God, which is well warranted, but just the mental image of tiny pacifistic Rachel doing such a thing. Then he gives a faint smile.]

I would like to see that.

I would record it for you.

[And she gently nudges him in the side.]

I am definitely awe inspiring enough to make God run crying into a corner.

[Don't tell Raphael she said that. :|]

I have no doubt that you could.

I could totally make someone cry.

[She says this with an obvious joking manner -- a tiny laugh as she leans on his arm, watching her new baby unicorn.]

Maybe. In some alternate universe.
