Oh, well -- beep!

I found it in the wastelands. It seems to have been abandoned.
[He'd wandered out there to have some quiet time alone to think after Sam's arrival, and stumbled upon the creature; or rather, it had stumbled toward him, likely drawn to his angelic presence in it's loneliness.]
[Offline]
The poor thing... well, I'm not going to hurt you.
[It's said with a warm smile, to the animal, as she lets the unicorn nudge around her hands.]
He looks like he needed a friend -- you are very lucky to have found him, Castiel, I didn't think unicorns were real. They must be very shy.
[Offline]
So it seems. However, it appears to like you.
[Offline]
I like animals and horses can sense that, you know, so maybe unicorns are the same.
[It could also help that she's a virginal young woman who doesn't eat animals, but Rachel doesn't know that any of that is relevant.]
Where are you going to keep him? He can't stay by himself, he's too little.
[Offline]
[He watches her and the unicorn, then glances over at her at her last comment.]
I can't keep it. Rei will never allow it.
[Also, though Castiel can take care of his cat, a unicorn is a bit much especially with everything else going on.]
I thought that you might wish to care for it.
[Offline]
Me?
[She sounds breathlessly delighted.]
Really? I can keep it?
[Offline]
Of course.
[He'd been a little concerned she might not want it and he would have had no idea what to do with it then, so he's relieved.]
[Offline]
Best present ever, you have to help me name it!
[Offline]
I am not good at naming things, Rachel. But I am glad you are happy.
[Offline]
[She lets him go, but soon hugs his arm so she can look back at the unicorn while still expressing her thanks. The unicorn that still has the edge of her dress in his teeth.]
And nonsense, you are wonderful at naming things, you named your cat something very pretty.
Something will jump at us.

-- maybe Christian, like from Moulin Rouge.
[Offline]
[But Castiel's tone is just faintly amused, like he recognizes the silliness of how often he has to say that.]
[Offline]
[Rachel doesn't seem to mind how silly it is. He's not from around here, so it's perfectly understandable that he doesn't know certain things. Even if his complete lack of knowledge was initially insulting.]
But I don't think he looks like a Christian, do you?
[Offline]
[He's curious, as always, about human things, and seeing some movies if given the opportunity is a good way to learn more. Also he wants to see what Gabriel would do if he makes an appropriate movie reference.]
Names are usually chosen on meaning, correct?
[Offline]
[Brightly, as she watches the unicorn.]
And usually -- I mean, my dads named me after a television character, not for what Rachel actually means.
[Offline]
[He points out, thinking the name fits; sheep are gentle creatures, and that's definitely Rachel's nature.]
Then you were named after what the name represents through the character, correct? It is still a meaning.
[Offline]
I suppose so -- what does Castiel mean? Why is that your name?
[Offline]
[His voice is oddly neutral. He doesn't know how he feels about his own name's meaning after all that's happened.]
I don't know. I'm not certain who named me, even, though I presume it was my Father.
[Offline]
[It's said quietly -- Rachel knows, better than the angels probably think she does, about how painful talking about their Father is. And she hugs his arm loosely before continuing to speak.]
Somewhat ironic, but I think that makes it even more special.
[Offline]
[A faint attempt at a joke, no matter how seriously the underlying subject is.]
[Offline]
If your Father ever shows up here, I will slap him for you.
[Offline]
I would like to see that.
[Offline]
[And she gently nudges him in the side.]
I am definitely awe inspiring enough to make God run crying into a corner.
[Don't tell Raphael she said that. :|]
