19 [Accidental Video]
[The video cuts on in the middle of Rachel brushing out her hair, watching herself in her mirror. There's a large macaw in the corner, which is the only sign of the event being in her room.
She doesn't seem focused on the PCD -- or the parrot -- but instead on her image in the mirror. Rachel sighs -- the humidity is causing her hair to be curlier and poofier than it normally is and the amount of moisture certainly isn't doing anything for her skin. A tug or two through and the brush makes it through her hair, but the girl looks less than satisfied.
Until Rachel cocks her head to the left and curls her fingers around the handle of her brush and begins to sing to herself, softly, at first, but the more she sings, the louder and more passionate it becomes:]
My mama told me when I was young, we're all born superstars. She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on, in the glass of her boudoir --
[A neat spin and Rachel is full out singing into her mirror -- and seems to be doing a dance, along with her song -- and it appears perfectly choreographed.]
There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are, she said, 'cause he made you perfect, babe, -- so hold your head up, girl, and you'll go far -- listen to me when I say -- !
[The brush is long since forgotten on the dresser, by this point, as she continues her dance.]
I'm beautiful in my way, 'cause God makes no mistakes, I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way -- don't hide yourself in regret, just love yourself and you're set, I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way --
[The PCD times out soon after -- the network has apparently had enough diva for the time being.]

[She, by now, has realized everyone has seen her performance, not that she cares.]

It doesn't matter who you are or who you love or what you choose to do with your life, you will be a star.
[Rachel has sung it to herself in the mirror every single day since it hit the airwaves.]
[Raven doesn't think that being a superhero qualifies as being a star, even if many people seem to think that way.]

[UNIMPORTANT. Rachel is already off and running.]
It's my dream, to go to New York City, to live there, to star in three musicals before the age of thirty, and I'll finally get the opportunity to see where I'll be living, once I return home, because Nationals is in New York this year and -- oh my goodness, Broadway, you know of it -- !
...New York City's okay to live in I guess. But I do prefer California.
Do I know Wicked? Idina Menzel is one of my heroes, Defying Gravity is my go-to shower song and my ringtone, and Elphaba is a dream role of mine, I have the musical completely memorized, instrumental and all!
[But -- wait -- ]
You've lived in New York City? Tell me everything.
Me? No, I've never lived there. My teammates and I just go there from time to time to visit, well, another team.
[Rachel isn't the pretty one, after all. She's the unique odd supremely talented one.]
But -- oh, but you've been! I've never left Ohio.
I've never been to Ohio myself.
[Video] oh god I apologize for her tl;dr 1/2
It isn't -- it isn't just about costuming! It's about the passion, the soul of the character! Elphaba, the tormented genius, who wants to be recognized and accepted above all other things, only to discover her greatest hero is a fake! She is cast into despair, only to become stronger for it, and through her own determination does she find the one she loves, and Elphaba continues onward even though everyone finds her to be wicked!
Glinda -- Glinda is the good girl, the pretty girl, the sweetheart, and while she is a fantastic character and Kristin Chenoweth is a genius, she is certainly not made for me. Thank Goodness is a powerful number, but nothing beats Defying Gravity, the ultimate artistic expression of defiance and self-determination! Elphaba is strong, talented, and she will succeed at any and all costs!
[Rachel clasps her hands together with a bright smile.]
She's wonderful.

Really? ...And still I guess you never had UFO Raids target your farms to steal your cows, right?
