somethingspecial: (♪ Another one bites the dust.)
[Rachel is sitting on the steps of Solve, outside, holding a beat up acoustic guitar. It is a little big for her -- as are most things in Adstringendum, save for the clothes that Kurt managed to hem and tailor for her to fit her small frame -- but she manages it well enough. She carefully picks through the strings, frowning as she tunes it, her head tilted to listen to each note carefully. Apparently, it isn't to her satisfaction -- Rachel looks displeased as she fiddles with the strings before, finally, she beams.]

Oh, finally -- now...

[Rachel frowns to herself in concentration as she tries to remember a certain chord, just to test out her tuning and stringing job. She strums the guitar gently, singing something softly to herself, before she picks a song, brow knit in focus as she plays. There are a couple mistakes -- Rachel is only a recent fan of classic rock, after all -- but she manages pretty well -- and just when she opens her mouth to sing the first verse of the song --

Snap.

Two strings snap and whip across Rachel's fingers, causing her to nearly drop the guitar in surprise as the ugly sound echoes. She immediately shakes out her hand, tears welling in her eyes at the cut, before she glares down at the guitar.]

That was unnecessary -- ow --

[And the PCD cuts off at Rachel shaking out her hand, blood dribbling down her fingers.]
somethingspecial: (♪ I got chills.)
[Rachel is lying outside, by the lake, enjoying the sunshine. She seems to have forgone her usual outfit of knee socks, skirts, and long-sleeved cardigans for something a little more weather appropriate -- shorts and a tank top -- with the very tips of her toes just barely in the lake.

Rachel, for once in her life, has decided to dress like a relatively normal teenager.

But someone else has seemed to notice that, too.

While Rachel is lying on her stomach enjoying the sunshine and taking a well-deserved nap, a small bundle of white fur is edging stealthily closer. The spy wiggles forward on its belly, sniffing experimentally, before the puppy digs its cold wet nose directly into the bare tan skin of Rachel's side.

Rachel immediately bolts upward with a shriek onto her knees, but the movement causes her to become unbalanced, and she falls backwards with a loud splash into the shallows of the lake.

The puppy sits on her towel, looking moderately pleased with itself.

Rachel, however, does not -- she pushes herself up with a sputter -- but the feed cuts out just as Rachel says -- ]

It was just a damn dog -- ?!
[Adstringendum, you have a wonderful view of a staircase within Solve et Coagula. The PCD looks like it's on the floor and no one seems to be in sight -- yet.

Soon, a mattress appears at the top of the staircase, wielded by the tiny diva powerhouse that is Rachel Berry. She looks like she's having some difficulty pulling the mattress upright, but one does not master the art of the pique without having supreme body strength. So, on the very tips of her toes, Rachel manages to place the mattress near the top of the stairs --

But unfortunately for Rachel, the mattress is much taller than she is, and when it tips forward, so does she, and with a massive yelp, Rachel lands on the mattress, on her stomach, as the mattress flies down the stairs like the hounds of hell were after it.

She rockets past the camera and there is a resounding crash as the mattress slams into the front door, along with a groan and a shuffle off-screen as Rachel pushes herself up. Soon, she falls back into frame, rubbing her head with an irritated look, wincing as her fingers find the back of her head.]

Building these things is much easier on stage than it is in real life...
